October 2024 Tour

In October 2024, a total of 96 participants traveled to Japan from across the United States and Canada, arriving from more than 10 different airports coast to coast.
The group included 57 players and 39 family members and friends.

With arrivals spread across both Haneda and Narita airports, five buses were arranged to bring everyone together in Shin-Yokohama.

After arrival, the group explored Kamakura—one of Japan’s historic former capitals—while adjusting to the time difference.

Over the weekend, a two-day tournament was held, featuring draft-style mixed teams and bringing everyone together on the ice.

Following the tournament, the group traveled to Kyoto for three days of sightseeing.
They stayed in a historic district around Pontocho and Kawaramachi, immersing themselves in the atmosphere of old Japan. Days were spent exploring temples and cultural sites, while evenings were filled with memorable dining and drinks in the narrow, lantern-lit streets lined with traditional restaurants and bars.

The journey then continued to Hiroshima by Shinkansen, where participants visited the Peace Memorial Park and Museum.

Finally, the group returned to Tokyo for three days of sightseeing and free time. Highlights included Meiji Shrine—one of the most visited shrines in Tokyo—as well as Asakusa, where they experienced both Japan’s rich history and its incredible food culture.

The group proudly called themselves “YOLO”—You Only Live Once.
The following year, inspired by their spirit, a hockey group with the same name was formed in Japan, carrying that same passion forward.

In total, this was an 10-day journey combining hockey, culture, and unforgettable experiences.
